San Diego confirms first local Chagas infection. Expert says ‘be smart’ - SFGATE

On Monday, San Diego County health officials announced that they had confirmed the first locally acquired Chagas infection in the region.

Chagas disease is often caused by the feces of an infected triatomine insect, otherwise known as the kissing bug.
